Tori Wanner

Hilltop Co-Owner, (She/Her)

Hello, my name is Tori and I love the outdoors! Growing up most of my free time was filled riding horses in the mountains and at rodeos, hiking, paddle boarding and camping. I appreciated nature then, but my passion for spending time outside and sharing the outdoors with others was discovered when I started working full time.

I had to start scheduling when I was going to walk my dogs or take my horses for a ride and learned how to appreciate the outdoors and the time spent outside. I realized how my mood was affected when I wasn’t able to get out as much. I would invite my friends to join me on hikes and noticed how quickly they would brighten up after being outside.

I believe being outside can benefit anyone. I have a passion for showing others just how easy it is to get outside. Therefore, it was a no-brainer to start Hilltop Wellness LLC! We have created an amazing outdoor experience teaching you how to connect to yourself by connecting to nature. I cant wait to see you there.

Lets get outside and grow together!

Tina Crain

Hilltop Co-Owner, (She/Her)

I am Tina, co-owner of Hilltop Wellness. I have grown up going camping and being out in nature as much as possible. Camping and spending time with my family make up some of my favorite memories growing up. Now as an adult it also helps me to reduce the amount of stress and anxiety in my life. Along with being in nature, I love being active. I grew up loving sports and being active. Some of these activities include riding horses, playing softball, swimming, hiking when camping, and most other outdoor activities. While growing up my connection and being with horses helped me through a lot of hard times in my life. I learned while working at Discovery Ranch for Girls even more about the healing of horses. This has lead me to start taking classes in equine therapy. I have also had a passion for helping people and being there to support them, a good majority of my life. Due to this, I have chosen to become a mental health therapist. I am partway through my bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science. I am excited about getting to know people; assisting them in finding their drive and passion for getting back to nature to help with their overall health and self-empowerment.

Penney Rockhill

My name is Penney Rockhill (She/Her/Hers). I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I started practicing as a clinician in 2009 and prior to that worked with children and adults in the schools and community. I currently live in Southeast Idaho and have moved around a bit prior to settling here in 2007. I received my Bachelors degree in Psychology and Business from Utah State University, Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University and PHD, (ABD) from Capella University where I added an emphasis in Play Therapy.

I started A Penney for your Thoughts, to provide a safe, comfortable and non-judgmental space where you can come in, sit down and take off the mask. Through my life experiences as a mother, clinician, and person I have gained a strong belief in the need to discover and accept ourselves, gain resilience and be empowered to live as your ideal self. The first part of that journey is taking off the persona others expect to see in a safe environment.

I have worked with children, family, adults and adolescents who are struggling with behavioral, mental health and addiction issues for the past 9 years. I am trained in Play Therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, MRT (Moral Recognation Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), MET/CBT, Trauma Focused CBT, Trauma Focused CBT Play Therapy, and IRRT (Image Refocus and Rescripting Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), IFS therapy (Internal Family Systems), domestic violence offender treatment, domestic violence victim treatment, Zero to Three Relational therapy and WRAP Around. I am also a State Certified Clinical Supervisor.

Janae Kara

Hi, I’m Janae (she/her/hers)

RYT 500, TCTSY-F, & Current B.S Behavioral Health Student

And I feel passionate about bringing the mental health and yoga communities together through the outdoors.

Why? Because I have personally felt the benefits of combining the somatic movement practice of yoga along with therapy and mindfulness. I also know this is always amplified when I am in nature.

My personal life has always been filled with outdoor activities since I was little. It was a part of both family and personal time. I enjoyed going to find both the peaceful contemplation of nature as well as harnessing the imaginative and creative power of being in new surroundings. I love the adventure the outdoors brings and find it truly tests my abilities to roll with uncertainty. I also feel a deep connection with the earth and strive to be a more healing influence towards my time spent here. I have been on a journey learning more and more about how I view and implement sustainability and the actions I am taking towards plastic reduction, composting, and zero waste practices. I love spending time outside working in my yard as well as biking, paddle boarding, hiking, and swimming.

When I first became a yoga teacher it was easy to get caught up in the physical movement and exertion of the practice. However, as I put in more time on the mat I found other changes in my life begin to unfold. While struggling through a divorce and big health problems around my autoimmune disease and chronic pain I turned to yoga. I found more mental calm and ease day to day and found big emotional releases happening in the middle of class or right after shavasana. At the time this felt odd and concerning but, now I understand the direct connection between the body and the mind and our tendency to leave unseen emotions stored up in the body. 2019 brought me to Australia to participate in a training course on trauma yoga from the Center of Trauma and Embodiment. This new found education brought me my mission, to help others move through trauma and mental health struggles through yoga and mindfulness. I am a firm believer that yoga is for everybody and every body and became an online ambassador for Yoga For All after graduating from their course. I now feel confident to help all body types and levels of experience have a fulfilling yoga practice. Yoga or any type of movement practice should not be exclusionary and is a gift I feel passionate about sharing with all people.

So if you would like to experience the emotional and mental benefits a trauma and body positive yoga practice can have on your life I am your teacher. And if you are ready to take things to the outdoors I am your guide.
